Yet another brilliant Cary Grant film is Bachelor Knight

Teenaged Susan Turner, with a severe crush on playboy artist Richard Nugent, sneaks into his apartment to model for him and is found there by her sister Judge Margaret Turner. Threatened with jail, Nugent agrees to date Susan until the crush abates. He counters Susan's comic false sophistication by even more comic put-on teenage mannerisms, with a slapstick climax.

Cary Grant is the playboy, Shirley Temple the teenager, and Myrna Loy as her sister. Great film, cast ... and supporting cast.

That's actually "The Bachelor and the Bobby-soxer." The name was probably changed in Britain, since the term was probably not used there. For me, he's THE movie star, and I have several favorite quotes of his. For example, when he once got a telegram asking, "HOW OLD CARY GRANT?" He responded, "OLD CARY GRANT FINE (stop) HOW YOU?"

Yes, I do know that is the original name for it ... but I mainly know it as Bachelor Knight ... Him in the suit of army is great!

Cary Grant was my first actor-crush ... the first actor who I thought was brilliant at anything he did. James is my second!

We're two of a kind then, sort of. My first actor crush was also Cary Grant. My second wasn't the actor, Marsters, but the character, Spike. As you know, there's a difference. There are some wonderful biographies on Grant. A few more of my favorite quotes by Grant. "Even I wish that I were Cary Grant." "Once again I'm becoming Archie Leach."

Yes, Spike was who introduced me to the amazing actor. Having met James I now separate the 2 easily. He is a great actor!

Okay, how about, "Insanity runs in my family. It practically gallops." Yup he said it! There are some great biographies out there. Where are you in Britain as compared to Pinner, Middlesex?

Pinner is where the red arrow-thingy is, and Exeter has the box round the name. I grew up in Upminster - roughly level with Pinner. but the other side of London (just above Dartford on the map)

I have been to the States twice -

1989 - New York, Niagra, Toronto, Michigan (for a wedding) ... then south through Kentucky & Tennessee to North Carolina and back via Williamsburg, Washington and Philadelphia.

1994 - Colorado & Utah

One day I will get back.
