Summer Is Here ....

Well it was on Sunday afternoon at Mum & Dad's!  Flowers are out (so are the weds), bees are buzzing - and we have a hot dog!





He got too hot - so went to cool off -

I am annoyed - Monday morning is baking morning and decided to rty a new cake recipe ... hasn't worked, at all - I have shoved it back in the oven in the hope it will behave itself ... anyway, the bread rolls were fine.  So not a total loss of a morning.

Your parent's garden is sensationally beautiful. I guess they have the true British gardening skills. My next door neighbor's mother was British, but my neighbor says she didn't get that talent.

It isn't as great as normal as we had a hot March and a cold wet June ... so the flowers (and wildlife) has really suffered.

I'm not a keen gardener - but it helps Mum now she can't really do much.

Jiffy tends to "cook" then sit in the shade, then goes indoors, to a cooler room and sit behind furniture, in the corner!

It did eventually cook (twice the one hour stated!) ... but I wasn't impressed with it ... very greasy texture and flavour. I re-checked and i had done the correct amounts, honest!

All of the flowers are beautiful, but the photo with the bee is wonderful. How hot did it get? Cause it's over a 100 here. We have had more rain this summer so that is better.

I didn't know you liked to bake. I love to bake and would have something everyday, but Robert gives me the evil eye. He tells me not to bake sweets, but then sneaks in and eats them. I try to only make something when Tommy is coming over. I use to bake all the time when the kids were younger. Now none of us need the extra junk food.

The bee picture was more luck than anything - last year I took loads to get the one, but this one I managed to captured the right bee looking at the right flowers!

I love baking - but had got out of the habit. My "new" house has a great kitchen so am trying to get back in the habit. This recipe was a failure - it did cook, but didn't taste as great as the picture looked. Will admit I love puddings, and am getting back into the habit of making them, as well.

I can imagine!! We've been finally getting some rain which is finally helping to cool things off a bit I think :)
