Gardening Is Dangerous

....... With the bad weather I only managed about an hour's work - but in that time I got stung by thistles and stinging nettles ... and bitten by loads of tiny black ants (I'm allergic to them!) ... and then just as I was coming in I got stung by a bee (so I now stink of onions, as that is Mum's cure for that ... it did take the pain away!)

Off to mumble my way to a shower ... and then a cup of tea!

LOL - great idea, but didn't have any. The onion worked on the bee sting, but where the nettles got me my hand is still tingling slightly!

The annoying theing is I only cleared half of that corner!

See no good deed goes unpunished. I think you deserve a cuppa and a cookie. My grandmother dipped snuff. She would put it on any stings we got as kids. She would paint us with it. I think I would have rather had an onion smell.

LOL - I am glad it was onion that my hand stank of! I have yet to find anything that will calm my ant bites ... maybe I should try snuff!

I have strong reactions to bee bites also. I agree with the suggestion of taking an antihistamine.

There are a lot if sleepy bees in my garden at the moment - so I'm avoiding cutting back some of the shrubs where they are congregating. One of the new cats can't seem to leave them alone though and has been stung twice. Doesn't seem to put her off 'playing' with them!!

Yes, I was kneeling to pick things up and put my fist on the bee. The onion really worked to help that.

Jiffy chases them, and however much we try to say NO, he is happy to "see off the invaders"

LOL - yes, that gardening day was "busy" ... but felt OK within a couple of days, thank you.
