debris4spike: (Eww!)

Today on the ward there were 4 trained nurses, 3 auxilliaries (including me), 20 patients .... and 10 leeches.

We don't seem to have moved on very far, do we?

Actually, although I spent my day avoiding 2 patients (!!!!), they are very effiecient at clearing up non-healing skin grafts.

Sometimes old medicine does really the best job. Doctors these days often rely too much on chemical/high tech instead of ancient methods. Might not be something I would want to observe, but would consider the use if needed.

As long as they don't start bleeding people into a basin again! (It didn't do much good for George Washington.) Actually, I've read that sometimes bleeding is used for hemochromatosis, but I don't know if that's true.
