But it looks as if I may not get to see James this year.

He is booked for a Con (with Juliet) at the end of September ... and although I know those who go will have a brilliant time, it really isn't me.

Like a friend has said earlier, we must just keep our fingers crossed he will do a day while he is over ... but I suppose a lot depends on the rest of his life.  (I am just just selfish to hope he does!)

Sorry, Con-land, I know that it wouldn't really make me happy - and if I am going to spend money I would prefer it to go to the one person I like ... so, I am sad, but it is a self-imposed sadness!

I know - I am just silly!

In defense of cons (I am hardly an expert, but I have been to several) they can be unexpected fun even without face time with your chosen actor. The panels can be great if the people on them are comfortable and having a good time, the other con-goers can be interesting (among other things they can be), and everyone is just there to enjoy it.

Anyway, as I was saying, while I've only gone because of James, I've always had a good time, even at non-James parts of the event, and often enjoyed the other panels/presenters just as much as his part.

*g* - Yes, I'm sure that some of the discussions would be fun, but I just think it wouldn't be me ... for silly reasons. Some of which, I'm sure, starts from the bullying and feeling that I would be outside of the group ... even though I know I would be welcomed by the rest of the attendees.
