So much for a 10 minute break in peace and quiet ... yes there was fresh air, but there were exhaust fumes, and the sound of the helicopter warming up before taking off again.



Still, we must be thankful that air ambulances now exist (even if it did disturb my tea break!)

I lived on an Army base in the States for years. We had helicopters fly over our house all the time. They would be so close it would rattle the house and knock things off the walls. I seriously have a real fetish for helicopters. I love watching them.

Where we lived in Bude the jets used to practice low flying for 4 months of the year ... and every other time, Mum & Dad's house was one of their "targets" ... they lived slightly out of town and surrounded by fields.

It wasn't anything that ever worried, or annoyed, us - but some used to moan.

That helicopter was amazingly windy, even though I was a little way away, and it was small.

My sympathies to you. I completely understand. Whenever I try to take a break at work I run into lots of people smoking. If I go sit in my Jeep, all I get are people dirinv gby with music blaring so loud, I can't hear myself think. Ugh. It seems the world is full of people who can't stand to just be at peace anymore, which is sad.
