Bank Holiday today - but I worked. After having 2 weeks unpaid this month with illness I thought the money would be handier. Even handier than I thought ... I broke down on the way home. A dead alternator.

I have to be positive and think that the last time an alternator died I was driving after dark in the fast lane (in rain) and the car cut out. So, this way I have the expense ... but no worries.

Yikes! Dead alternator means car goes nowhere. I know because I had to push my small car across a street and into a parking lot once. Dead is dead. I hope you get it fixed quickly. I have nightmares about my car breaking down.

When they phoned with the bill for the parts earlier today, they seemed to mumble ... I think trying to hide the figures from me!
