I said that a couple of weeks ago I went to Nicks and Andrew took a few pictures, again. Not many this time as the boys started playing football. Anyway, I turned these into icons ... all are snaggable, as ever.
Really good icons, you did very good with the cropping. The only one that I find could be improved (if you don't mind me saying) is #7. To make it more easy to appreciate it needs a little more space to the right. There's this little like "guide" to keep photos armonius and interesting for the eyes. It goies like this: In your head try to imagine this division over the picture you're going to take or crop or manip, etc. _________ |__|__|__| |__|__|__| |__|__|__|
You keep the most important subject, the one that you want to stand out, close to any of the four center poins where the lines intersect. It's not a math formula, it doesn't have to be exact or anything and it's not a guarantee either, but it does help a lot.
I see you take great pics, (I specially love the ones you take of roads!) and I don't know if you knew about this little helping guide, but if you didn't I'm just trying to give you a little something to make you even greater, 'cause you have a good eye, darling.
I'm not a great photographer and I'm not going to be one (according to the prof I'm a little bit too abstract, which really means a lot of my pics don't really make much sense! LOL), but I did take some classes and I remember the professor was always saying that it's all about practice and experimentation. Keep in mind a couple of guiding rules (like the division of space) and you just take as many photos as you can! And you can be great! I encourage you to keep taking photos 'cause you do a great job, I think you have the eye for it! :D

Date: 2011-04-25 08:28 am (UTC)I know with roads it's good to focus on a bend, if you can.
I really need to spend some time both behind a camera, as well as looking at images, and re-focus my eye on what works best.
