Christmas Decorations

Over most things I am a real traditionalist ... and Christmas decorations are one thisg I love - some of them are years old - and yet, every year they are on display again.


I love this Father Christmas bauble - I had it given me when I was 4

 

This Angel is 80+ years old - Mum was given it for her 1st or 2nd Christmas - and it's always on the tree.

 

My love of giraffes is still there over Christmas - this is a lovely white crystal

 

The right hand Angel was what I was given for my first Christmas and was on the top of the tree for 10 years - now the 2 of them hang from curtains near the tree - part of the "Heavenly Host"

When you think of how much laughter (and how many tears) some of these have seen - part of Christmas isn't it?

It is wonderful to have so many memory pieces on and about your tree. Sometimes when I see 'decorator' trees, they are so sterile.

There is something nice about the first view of a decorator tree - but within seconds you begin to lose that feeling of a family Christmas, don't you?

Beautiful decs. It's good that they've lasted so long. I remember when we were kids we had to make toilet roll snowmen at school and the cotton wool would always fall off by New Years!! :)

What lovely ornaments and lovely memories to go along with them. Sadly, my mom didn't save anything from our trees. I do have a few things she crocheted over the years. I love them.

My Gran, Mum ... and now me, are all hoarders ... we have so many loved pieces around - My other Gran threw anything away if it hadn't been used for a couple of weeks then it was pointless.

Decorating the trr is the best part of Christmas so many found memories are hung every year those angel are beautiful

Yeah, Christmas is my favourite holiday by far and IMO everything about Christmas is traditional and I love it! ♥

Those are lovely! Thanks for sharing them. We didn't do a tree this year (still knee-deep in boxes) so I'm looking forward already to next year and seeing ornaments I haven't see in a long time, due to their being in storage.

I think the last time M&D moved house, they laughed as the box of Christmas decs was well labelled - we are all hoarders, so if we still hadn't fully unpacked, at least I knew which box I needed!
