Christmas Day 2010

As it turned out Tim mamnaged to (with the help of 4 neighbours) get his car moved, so I didn't have the long driving - so, I started the day off with a leisurely breakfast and then took Jiffy for his walk ... arriving home in time for Tim & Claire to arrive ... but more importantly, for Dad to be pouring the sherry.

After a standard leisurely dinner - turkey, roast potatoes, carrots & peas, red cabbage, mushrooms and stuffing, followed by Christmas pudding and Rum Sauce for the others and mince Pies for me, we got to the lounge in time to hear the Queen's speach ... then Claire and I dished out the pressies ... and then we got down to the serious part of Christmas.




As ever, I was spoilt rotten - Mum & Dad got me a couple of tops, a couple of necklaces and a large tin of sweets; a couple of friends bought me jigsaws (one of which is an Escher) ... and I had some smellies, other chocolate, and some earings.  Tim & Claire arrived with a few "bits" and a huge apology - my pressie is still to arrive ... so I wait until the New Year for that.














As you can see, Jiffy had a great pressie - this is what Mum and Dad bought him - it's a duck that actually sounds realistic, so that is now travelling around with him ... his favourite, after he managed to de-squeaker both the toys I and T&C gave him!









And so to tea ...



Jiffy is great - he just doesn't see the fascination in food, at all.




And then time to wave Tim & Claire off on the icy roads befroe clearing up and settling down for a relax, a chin-wag ... and a marvel;lous well-earned cuppa.

All in all a lovely day - one for the memory books.

That's a lovely Christmas Deborah. Glad you didn't have to drive and Tim & Claire arrived savely. Jiffy looks so cute with his new pressie. And I love the last picture of you and Jiffy as well as the picture at the dinnertable and Claire with Jiffy.

Jiffy made Claire give him the first pressie - as she went to get others he started telling her where his were!

Sounds like a good time was had by all. How's your wrist? What are smellies? Glad everyone is safe and sound. I just got home after working eight hours of returns in retail. Not much fun was had there. LOL.

We had a super time, thank you. What did Robert end up doing? Did the two if you just sit and watch the christmas films?

My wrist is sore on certain movements, still ... but basically doing well, thanks for asking.

Smellies - sorry thought it was an all-world phrase! It's the general term from bubblebath, bodyspay, handcream, etc, etc

Sorry to hear that it was a tough day - we watched on the wens the starting on the London sales, and things looked hectic - not so exciting where you work though ... and I bet everyone was moaning about something - *hugs*

Robert didn't go to his grandmother's this year. I had Tommy over on Wed and we had turkey and all the good stuff on Wed. It's the only time we can get together during the week. So I had leftovers and planned to have them on Sat. Found out late Fri that Robert ate all the leftovers that day. So I had to run to the only open store on Christmas morning to buy some ham and other things to have for Lunch on Christmas Day. It turned out okay. We sat and talked while eating. The dogs loved it, but were not allowed to beg from the table. That's a no no. They did get some extra treats.

Smellies isn't a term I've heard before. Smellies doesn't sound like a good thing. LOL.

Sunday morning was worst then Friday at work. They seemed to think no one would get up early to return things. I was alone for the first hour. We only had two cashiers on the front as well. They had to call for help from the floor. Hopefully today will not be as bad. Maybe some of our customers will go back to work today. Our flow of returns isn't as bad as they were when I worked at the same chain Tommy does now. Our returns are a bit easier to do. Different procedures. My new company makes it so much easier to return things.

Sorry to hear things were busy - I'm having a truly lazt time - and would be even if I still had my job - we have a long weekend here.

Glad the meal went well - yes we are lucky with Jiffy, which is why I cuddle him at the table - he never asks for anything - previous dogs used to get told No ... so I'd never dare cuddle them like that!

Life was much easier that way - I will admit I was pleased ... although I would have done the trip if needed.

It was a lovely day, thank you Carolyn - yes T&C live in a good road - where many neighbours help each other when there's a problem.

That dress is ancient - but she doesn't wear it too often as it's too festive ... can you see her at the suopermarket! She made it for their 40th anniversary back in '92.
