I told you that last week Tim, Claire and I went to Clovelly for the day - Those in England ill know exactly the village I mean ... but, for those who don't - it's a privately owned fishing village - that still has to use sledges to move things around ... either that, or donkeys.

Yes, you have to be fit - it has steps as a main road - is north- east facing, so tends to be cool, although out of the prevailing winds.

Still a fishing village - but now more used for a stop on the tourist trail - although it was also visited by Charles Dickens, Whistler and was the childhood home of Charles Kingsley.

The view from the carpark!

You seem to have a mad spammer...

I loved Clovelly when I visited with my Mum - a long time ago, I've just realised!

What lovely pictures in the chapel.

Picturesque!! I'd love to visit but I'm so glad that you've shared these places! I love the waterfall and the rock/stone stairs and the views of the sea.

Well i've managed to find time to swing by and have a look at your LJ, your photos are great, the composition is really nice on them too, I especially like the first three, the waterfall, side roads( the one with the steps)the harbour (great leadlines in that one)the taxi one with the donkey (that would make a great postcard pic) and my favourite one, the church, I love the way you've got the headstones lined up across the foreground.
The last time we were down that way and wanted to go into the village it was very heavy drizzle so we decided against it :( wasn't worth paying that money when it was such a horrible day as everything was behind a sheet of rain.
