debris4spike: (Want a hug - Cap'n John)

Reading of sad news on a friends LJ this morning, I linked her to this poem, that I have next to me on the pc.  As I told another friend yesterday, I had been low, and a comment she made really cheered me up ... So, thought I would share this (again possibly) with you all ... but mostly, just read it for myself -

My Life is but a Weaving

My life is but a weaving
between my Lord and me;
I cannot choose the colors,
He worketh steadily.

Oft times He weaveth sorrow,
And I, in foolish pride,
Forget He sees the upper,
And I the under side.

Not 'til the loom is silent
and the shuttles cease to fly,
Shall God unroll the canvas
and explain the reason why.

The dark threads are as needful
in the Weaver's skillful hand,
As the threads of gold and silver
in the pattern He has planned.

He knows, He loves, He cares,
nothing this truth can dim.
He gives His very best to those
who leave the choice with Him.

Such a powerfull poem. I like it, it gives me reason to think that all that happens to me happens for a reason. Even if I don't see it. The hard times as well as the good ones. *Big Hug*

So very true!

I was starting up GIMP to do my challenge. Downloaded the pics this morning but then had to go to work. Hope I don't find it to hard but then again I only have to do this challenge.

I like this poem. It kinda made me smile... And makes you realize, everything happens for a reason... Which I've always believed myself :)
