Bible In 90 Days
Thursday, July 15th, 2010 09:45 amI posted about this challenge a couple of weeks ago, and although it was due to start the day after Independance day, I started it early - so as of this morning I am a sixth of the way through the Bible.
I am reading from The Living Bible, and it is brilliant to see things flow. I have read the Bible many times, but reading the Pentateuch this fast has just brought alive how Gods words and love is repeated, yet sadly how us humans make the same mistakes, but today I arrived in The Promised Land.
A couple of great verses were there for me to read - lovely for the Israelites to take to their new life ... and for me (and my friends) to be reminded of every day ...
Deuteronomy 31 v 6 & 8 -
Be strong! Be corageous! Do not be afraid!
For the Lord you God will be with you. He will never fail you, nor forsake you.
Don't be afraid, for the Lord will go before you; He will not fail, nor frosake you.
Deuteronomy 33 v 27 -
The Eternal God is your refuge.
And underneath are the everlasting arms.

Thanks so much for pimping this - I am really enjoying the challenge.

Date: 2010-07-15 04:27 pm (UTC)I love Deuteronomy ... but it's so easy to miss, as I get bogged with both Leviticus & Numbers!
This scheme takes a commitment, but it will help to remind me of these overlooked verses, won't it?
