Day 10 — Someone you don’t talk to as much as you’d like to ... College

Day 11 — A Deceased person you wish you could talk to

I dearly loved my Mum's parents.  This picture was taken in the 30s ... when they were in their early 40s.  Granddad died in 1978 (Christmas day) and I wished I could have spoken to him more.  He served during the whole of the first world war ... and then living in the depression ... what an amazingly strong character.  My Grandmother died on her 90th birthday (just after my 21st) in 1982.  She was 11 when she moved to England, from Canada ... although her parents were actually English ... they moved every few years.  She lost her fiance at the beginning of the war, became a VAD and met Granddad at the end.  I remeber her better.

I just wish I could spend some time with them.

My Grandfather was ill by the time i was born, so although I was 14 when he died, we never spoke.  He had served in the Coldstream Guards in the 20s ... this picture was taken about then, when my Grandmother and he got engaged.  She worked in a bomb factory during the war (was a Canary!) ... and then was a chocolate packer.  She died in the early 90s ... but sadly was a very tough person, who did not want to tak of the past - and had no affection at all for any of us.  So, although I knew her ... I never got to chat.

I would love to speak to them all - although have the advantage of knowing that I shall see them again in Eternity.  Hense the icon - both of them became lay-preachers.

Your maternal grandmother looks so warm and inviting! I'd love to sit and have a chat with her, too. :)

I miss my deceased grandparents dearly. They were lovely people. That being said, I'm grateful that Grammy is still alive and (when she's having a good day) can be very sweet.

They look lovely. Your Grandparents look like they belong in a Norman Rockwell painting.

I can sympathize with this post! My paternal grandfather and maternal grandmother died before I was born. My maternal grandfather died a few days after I was Christened, so I never really knew him. I grew up with just my paternal grandmother, who I love dearly. Though I wish I had had a chance to know my other grandparents. But I know one day I will be able to meet them!
