My Brother's Garden

Thought you might like to see what my brother, Tim, and Claire have done with their back garden - it took a long time when they started - now it is relatively easy to maintain.







Yes, they put the water feature in, as well -










And, they open their garden to all sorts of wild life ... and explorers, don't they-

The garden has so many unusual plants and the water feature is lovely. I can see Jiffy is happy there too.

The purple ones are one of the few I know the name of - *g* .... They are Lupins!

Yes, Jiffy had great fun exploring the pathways ... and paddling in the water!

Domestic lupin looks quite different than the wild variety. The leaves are almost the same. The lupin in SW Colorado are budding but have not started blooming yet.

Your brother and his wife are definitely good gardeners.

We thought they were mad when they started it a few years ago - but it looks great - and with a few grasses, looks good all the year.

That stone was heavy, so he had problems getting it settled - but it looks good ... and Jiffy enjoyed paddling in it!

Putting in all that effort has given them a gorgeous low maintenance garden to enjoy now, I can see. No lawn to mow!!

Yes, it's only a couple of times a year they have to spend a day sorting etc - so a great job, now ... but a pain to begin with ... especially getting that stone in place! But Jiffy was happy, so that's the main thing!

Very nice! I like the hot pink, trumpet-shaped flowers. At first glance, they made me think of impatiens (sometimes they're that color), but impatiens are flatter.

They have done an amazing job ... I thought they were mad when they talked about it, but it is stunning.

Tim picks the plants and helps with the bi-annual tidy ... Claire does the rest!
