A Thought From The Bible

As most of you already know, I start each day with a Bible reading.  At present in Bude, I am reading froma modern paraphrased translation - The Message.  As I have read cover-to-cover many times, a different version opens well known verses again.

Today I was reading the start of the book of Joshuua ... in the Old Testamnet.

Moses has just died and Joshua takes over as leader to take the people (thousands of them) into their new land.  The verse that jumped out at me said -

"Strength!  Courage!  Don't be timid; don't get discouraged.  God, your God, is with you every step you take."

A great verse for us all - but especially for me, as I head towards unkown paths.

I am pulling out of my profession for a variety of reasons - so, after 26 years of being self-employed I am looking for work ... and probably moving house, at the same time.

I've always wanted to get a copy of the Message. The other day Bugbug was asking about getting her own Bible, and I told her the church will give her one next year. Another lady overheard us and she gave us one so use that has the Message and NIV side by side on the page! Very interesting.

I love that verse. I need to paste it to my community!

Someone gave me a gift token, and I bought this. When I was 12 I read The Living Bible - and again, being paraphrased, it was a great way to enjoy the actual words. I like the NIV ... although at Church I read from NKJV ... having been brought up on the King James, this is good for a few replacement words.
