debris4spike: (DJ - plaited!)

Yesterday I walked out to see DJ ... 3 weeks after I had last ridden.  The holiday. my cold, then the fact my breathing is completely screwed up has given DJ a 3 week holiday.

As he first spotted me he whinnied - which was more than cute.  I called, and he called back - then went back to eating!!!!

He was happy to see me - and carrot. though and walked in well.

My first job, while getting the breathing to settle was to cut about 8" off his tail.  He lives out, and by leaving the tail to drag in the mud, ruins it.  So, although I hate doing it, once the wet starts it is something I do.  Then his bridle inch got trimmed ... feet picked out, brushed ... yes he had obviously had a snooze on his left-hand-side, as the right had been "power washed" in the rain!  The his tail was conditioned, brushed and combed; and finally his mane brushed, combed and plaited.

He got ready and we had a couple of minutes wait for Toni and Junior ... Toni had to tighten the clenches in her shoes, before it was safe for Junior to be out.  Then we walked up the road to meet Ros and Shadow.

Our Wednesday ride - and good weather.

We didn't go far, as my breathing was poor, as were Junior's shoes!!!!  So just round the block.

However still a bit of a scare - there were cattle in a field they hadn't been in befre - How dare they?  Some scarpered to the other side, others kept pace - DJ couldn't seem to decide which set he approved of!

Still it was a good ride - great to be out ... And even better for DJ as I told him I wouldn't be back until next week!!

I had been wondering why you hadn't mentioned your daily ride. I hope you feel better soon.

So DJ has bedhead. LOL. Sort of like me when I wake up after being so tired I don't roll over much and end up with my hair shoved up on one side.

Hope you are feeling better soon. The wind has been out of the south here which blows in something I am allergic to it seems. I've been sneezing. Which wouldn't be too bad, but with the whole Swine flu scare, upsets co-workers and customers.

How nice for both of you that you got to ride today. I enjoy reading about your rides with DJ. (And sympathy for the not breathing - I have bronchitis right now and can't see my doctor, who is out sick. It's not bad enough to go to a walk-in clinic but is very annoying. Hope you're doing better soon.)
