Beautiful pics..as always!! The first pic is really breathtaking. And Jiffy always looks just like a model! I like the pic with you..it´s so summery! *sigh* Since we here in Austria are definitely having autumn already, pics like these are needed!! ;)
I have a picture of Mum and Dad taken when I was 8, and in my 20s everyone thought it was of me and Dad! Although, my Mum thinks I look like Dad's Mum!
All's well here thanks Deborah - though the girls aren't back at school yet (term starts today but they've put in two training days so they don't actually start until Monday). Still, it gives Bethan's blazer a couple more days to get here.
I've got two days off work as well (hence the presence on LJ *g*) which is nice.
The last days of summer... These are postcard-y shots of the harbor and charming shots of you, your parents and of course, Jiffy, smiling in the sunshine.
We don't have too mant specific dates we celebrate - unlike you.
In England we have Christmas Day and Boxing Day; New years Day, Good Friday and Easter Monday; the first and the last Mondays in May and the last Monday in August. All are Bank Holidays - in other words -a day off work. When I was a kid, everything was shut - but with extended trading etc, now it only seems to be Banks etc that are closed.
Your bank holidays may not have fancy names but 3 holidays in May/August is good. You have 8 holidays and we have 10 federal holidays. Schools/banks/post offices are closed. January 1 New Year’s Day January 19 * Birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr. February * Washington’s Birthday May 30 * Memorial Day July 4 Independence Day September * Labor Day October 12 * Columbus Day November 11 * Veterans Day November * Thanksgiving Day December 25 Christmas Day * variable dates because they are celebrated on the nearest Monday to give a 3 day weekend. Many of these holidays are not honored by business or shops. Sadly.
