If It's Good Enough For Solomon - Then It Should Be Good Enough For Me !!

King Solomon, the wisest king - Yes, he wrote much of the book of Proverbs.  In my reading this morning was this verse -

"How can we understand the road we travel?  It is the Lord who directs our steps."

Proverbs 20 v 24

So, I suppose, if someone as clever as Solomon can ask such a question - maybe it is OK for me to puzzle about it as well.

But, there again, why can't I remember the second half of the verse?

God wants what's best for me - what I want is probably not best.

My favourite of this Proverb set would have to be:

27 The lamp of the LORD searches the spirit of a man it searches out his inmost being.

I love a lot of the Proverbs.

One Bible year scheme I did do had you reading a couple a day, as well as the rest of the Bible - and that was a good way to get them to focus.

However I am reading straight through the book with this scheme - maybe that just means the odd verse leaps out at me.

Yes, v27 is a really special verse as well.

It is sometimes very difficult to wait for God's plan to unfold, but as long as you trust and have faith, it will be revealed to you.
