Question-why since it is summer do you have to dry indoors? Here the summer is the time of the year to dry outside if you have a line. Heat is about 100 degrees so things dry quickly here.
This brings back memories of living in Germany. We would have racks to dry clothes on like this. We had a queen size bed so we would drape the sheets over the railing of the stairs to dry. Jeans took days to dry. I had a very tiny washer which didn't spin the clothes. I had a machine that would spin the clothes. I put them in dripping wet and then had to stand with my feet on the bottoms sides to keep it from dancing across the room as it would spin them. Was quite the show to watch me do it.
I keep forgetting to ask about your brother. Hope he is doing okay. This swine flu thing is so scary. Hope none of the family catches it.
I've had sinus problems this last week. For the last couple of years, I had no problems with allergies. Go back to work and now I am having problems. Comes from being outside and around others, I guess. Rats.
Tim seemed a little easier yesterday when Mum spoke to him. We have to laugh as his (male) boss caught the mild dose last wekk, but neither of their wives have been ill!!!!!!!!
Hope the sinusses get easier - they are so painful, aren't they? Do you feel you are sttling in at all?
Job is getting better. Had to learn so many new procedures. They damage out so much stuff compared to my old job with the other retail store. If someone brings back any food product, it is destroyed. Doesn't matter if it is opened or not. If a food product gets left at the register, it gets destroyed most of the time. Bring back a can of formula and it gets destroyed. It can be sealed and perfect, but it get destroyed. That bothers me a bit since so many products could be sent to a food bank for those who need it. Company is afraid of lawsuits that they would rather destroy than donate.
The schedule is so odd as well. I work 8-4 tomorrow. Close the next day so I will work at least till 11:30pm and have to open the next morning at 8am. Makes it difficult to get a bit of sleep and good rest. Takes me a while to relax enough to go to sleep. Never get two days off together.
That is so wrong about destroyed tinned/sealed foods. I know one of the milk companies had problems last year when they donated some powdered milk to somewhere in Africa, then people complained that they got ill as the milk was being watered down with contaminated water. No one said that the watere would have been drunk with or without the milk. The company was just trying to help starving babies.
Shift work must be a pain - I have never done it, but certainly prefer working to a routine.
Do you still manage to get you weekly get-together with Tommy?
Our get togethers are hit and miss now. We got together last week and watched all of Torchwood special and an episode of True Blood. Our schedules are put up on Thursday for the next Sun-Sat. Doesn't give us much notice when our days off are. This week I'm off Mon(today) and Friday. Tommy begins vacation tomorrow so maybe he will be out on Friday. I really miss our days together.
There are three of us who work in my dept. I work with Dee and Holly. Dee hasn't been to work for over a week now. She was sick and then her son was in the hospital. So they pulled from other areas to cover when Holly and I are off. When I go in the area is a bit of a mess so I have to clean it up. Those who help out, don't know all the things we have to do daily. So it seems we are always behind and have to do twice the work. Holly and I are still learning as well. Each day it seems they tell us another thing we were suppost to be doing and were never shown how.
