A meme that I have snagged again, this time from auntiero  -  I tend to be very open, but maybe there is still something you have never got round to asking.  So, here's your cance. 

Hence, I want you to ask me something you think you should know about me. Something that should be obvious, but you have no idea about. Then post this in your LJ and find out what people don’t know about you.

Question the first: What's your favorite color?

Question the second: Why did you go become an osteopath?

I love green - possibly because, being colour blind, it is a colour I see a lot of - LOL. For clothing though, red is my favourite.

When I was 15 we were on holiday and Mum hurt her back and was persuaded to go to an osteopath, which in those days was very no-go ... He really helped. 2 years later, same thing, and we took her to our local osteopath, who happened to be the Principle of the British School of Osteopathy. I was doing A level in science, and he asked mum was it something I had considered, as there was an open day at the college that weekend ... I went, applied, and the rest is history!

Well except for the fact that the osteopath, as well as being one of my tutors, became my osteopath when I was run over, and then I worked at the practice 2 days a week for 2 years when I first qualified.

I didn't know you were color blind! Well there you go then. :) (I prefer red for clothing, too.)

Funny how things that happen when we're young influence our decisons later in life. :)

I suppose being colour blind is one of those disabilities that is pretty minor and very misunderstood. So, just annoying. Mind you, I can also use it as the perfect excuse to mix colour up when I dress - I love wearing bright colours!! But, as you can just about see on this years pic - it was a red blouse!

If you could have any type of horse *breed / color* what would you chose and why? Of course this is as well as DJ of course!!

Until I was in my mid 30s I had never had anything to do with horses, so thought that "proper" ones were dark bay thoroughbreds (as I now realise they are named and coloured!).

Jaykub was dark bay - and will admit, that bay colour, on a healthy horse looks beautiful. However Toni has a lot of coloureds and I like seeing the varieties ... she had a mare that was skewbald - but always looked as if she should have had Geronimo riding her, if you know what I mean. I am fascinated seeing the changes DJ's coat is going through ... love his colours, but don't get that gleam as you do with brown or black.

I have also realised I love the cob-style ponies ... solid, sensible, but with a sense of humour!

I will admit there are very few I don't like, but Arabs are one of them (sorry to all Arab owners ... including Toni's daughter!!)

What made you want to become an osteopath? How did it happen?

I was doing A levels in science (htinking of becoming an optician), and he asked mum was it something I had considered, as there was an open day at the college that weekend ... I went, applied, and was accepted. As I was to Optics.

However I failed my A's - and the BSO were still willing to take me ona 6 month trial, providing I got 55% in all tests! So, all I can say is that God provided me with that placing - which makes it hard to wonder if I am really doing the right thing in thinking about pulling out of the profession.

The end of the story about Mum's osteopath is that he, as well as being one of my tutors, became my osteopath when I was run over, and then I worked at the practice 2 days a week for 2 years when I first qualified.

Mmm - yes. I love the job, but hate where the profession is trying to head.

My business has died, which is the reason for the thoughts about changing lifestyles. However it is still great, on a day like tday, to see a couple of people who I see once a year - and one I have done for 18 years ... makes me realise how much I love being part of this profession within Norh Cornwall.

I really am very split - and am praying hard for true guidance as to my future.

I know you play a clarinet in both an orchestra and a band, and also play the saxophone, did you learn how in school and do you also sing?

Second question first - No! I can't sing! I love singing in Church, but even found it a problem when I helped out on Sunday School Beach activities - I can't pitch a note .... which means I admire singers more,a nd especially James for his cowboy song! It also means I can't play the clarinet without music.

Yes, I had some lessons at school - from the age of 12-16 I went to Saturday Morning music lessons - and wasted the whole time ... never listened, never practiced ... oh how I wish I had! Then at 16 I got a Saturday job in a shop, and packed the clarinet away.

When I moved to Bude at 25 I came across it, and had it overhauled so I could sell it and give th money back to Mum and Dad ... then at our Church music was mentioned, and the following day someone arrived with some transcribed music for an Easter service in 2 weeks - they had taken the bother, so I put the instrument together and rapidly re-learnt the notes ... easy stuff, so all OK. I then joined a small group of people which has built to the orchestra - so I was lucky to learn with them, as such ... but no lesasons at all.

About 5 years ago my Aunt inherited some money and gave us all £500 and that's what I bought - the sax, 2nd hand. I don't often play,as I don't practiec the clarinet as much as I should!!
