Dragonball 2

Just seen through Google-alert that Dragonball 2 is due to be filmed, and James is due to reprieve his role. It isn't up on his site yet, but has James said it in an interview, which can be seen here ... and also confirms the date of the DVD release as September 7th.

Yes - gtreat to see it is going through. IO went with my sis-in-law who is neither a James fan, nor an action film fan - and she loved it.

James had said he was signed to do two more Dragonball movies if they continued the series. Often overseas box office is better than it is in the States. Many movies do better in DVD sales than box office as well. With the state of television being all about reality shows, good roles on tv are hard to come by. Reality shows are cheaper period for developers. Pleased that James is working.

Yes, it's great to read of the things he is doing - like the play, and the Wii.

I think, in England, Dragonball just didn't get any publicity at all. Yet I went with Claire who admits to not liking action films, and is not a James fan ... yet she loved it.

I don't remember much publicity here in the States either. I was so hoping James would do Letterman or The Late Late Show. Those would be interesting. James loves Letterman. Maybe if the second movie is better he will get to do the publicity more.

Mmmm - I read through all the Japan (etc) Red Carpet things on CDS, and there was huge hopes for the USA - I think a lot hoped that we would get to see him with his son, and possibly his neice, then nothing.

I never even saw a poster outside the cinema where it was actually showing.

I dropped a comment at the site and told them I put up the translation. It's on other sites as well, also on the DBmovieblog but they refuse to post even the comment...

The interview was a bit outdated as he mentioned his "upcoming" tour. Love how these sites don't pay attention to details like that. Anyway.. I'm just glad this one actually gave credit to both of us.

I would be very surprised if they do a second film, James said that he was told to say that there would be a second one by the studios, which looked like it was a bit of hype on their part- In New York he didn't even mention anything about the film at all so I don't hold out much hope for another one being done.

I think it was sad how little publicity was done to actually give it a chance.

btw - Hope that you had a great trip - looking forward to reading your report ... song list, pics ... and especially if James liked the dead-fly picture!! Did you give him a copy for the kids?

I agree with Chris. James said he was told by the studio to say that the sequel would be filmed, but that was just to hype it. It has not been confirmed, and probably won't be.
