366 MEME - Day 115 - A Job I Hate

I am one of the weirdest horse riders you will meet - I hate cleaning tack ... It gets left all the time, which is not nice for DJ, I know, but just something I hate.



However, I don't let him suffer for too long - and home it comes, gets cleaned and conditioned ... and his ear-muffs washed!

Tack? Does it have a toe and make a tick? Cos I might know what you're on about if so....

It's their "clothing" - ie bridle (which is what the picture is) and saddle ... saddle cloth/numnah and in DJs case, his ear-muffs!

You are not alone! LOL! I actually hate grooming too! Result of having to do it as part of my job for far too long! LOL I do keep Em clean though - just hate doing!

Your bridle looks very sparkly clean!

Oh, its mostly tack cleaning I hate doing - but when I say that to Toni she looks at me as if it is a weird thing to say. I suppose when I learnt it was not just for Jaykub, but because I was working at a yard - so lots to do.

Grooming was always special time for Jaykub ... as we workd at the yard it meant it was us time - so i grew to really love that.

DJ has inherited those thoughts!

I love pulling the tack all apart, cleaning and re-oiling and putting it back together. I find it rather relaxing, but I am strange that way! I think it's the loverly smells of horse and oils, plus my hands are always so soft afterwards.
