A couple of weeks ago, on my Friday I commented that I had been for a walk in the older part of the town. Yes, I took my camera, so, below the cut are some pictures of Plympton, South Devon .... and, if you want to see a bit about the history, then have a look here

We have some beautiful buildings around - its great to have the excuse of LJ to go for a walk!

European style of architecture is always so interesting to me. We have such cookie cutter style of modern architecture here in the States. Our housing areas are a bit borning. We do have some wonderful buildings, but too often things are boxy or dull. Your streets are so winding and narrow. Our huge SUVs and pickup trucks would never be able to park on those.

Yes, a few houses have lost their fronts over the years - now he just end up with width and height warnings everywhere.

So interesting. The curbs are high in some pictures. Did the road sink at one time? Love the differing stonework and house colors.

It used to be near the river, so flooding was a problem.

However we often have higher curbs, before the days of sewers and with horses as the mode of transport ... probably a good idea - *g*
