Can anyone tell me who and what is FanBox.com?

I have suddenly been receiving e-mails from them over the last 3 days.

Just wondering.

Never heard of them. But mark it as SPAM. If it is unsolicited mail it is SPAM. Get rid of it. X-D

Trouble is they come in with just a name, so my SPAM filter won't sort them. I don't actually open my e-mails in Outlook Express, only on the web site - so at least I don't have that worry.

No I use the gmail interface on the web too. Doesn't your email provider give you a SPAM option for emails that you never want to see again?

Yes it does - but these don't come in with the same name on - so it's just a case of SPAMming them individually!!

Oh no! Gmail spam filter is amazing, you hit SPAM on one email and it blocks all mail from that IP address forever or until you go into the SPAM folder and release them...

I googled that site and saw reports of it being a spam scam. They get you to give them your password and then grab all your email contacts to spam them as well. I would google them and find the government address to report them. It says not to give fanbox any information or click on anything. The message I read said not to even click on the cancel in the email message from them.

It is weird where these sites keep coming from - I swear I spend more and more time avoiding stuff I don't want in the first place!

Yes - and it is in as a "message rules" ... so why my e-mail account is letting it through I don't know.

Oh, well, as I explained to jaded_jamie at least I don't actually open into the pc.

How annoying - I hate Spam. My gmail account didn't get any for years, but over the last month the spammers have obviously found me there. I didn't check my email for about 3 days this week and when I did there were 400+ emails in the spam folder. At least they get put straight there though and so I just do a 'delete all' and get rid of them.

Like you, I don't open outlook express at all until I've checked everything via webmail and got rid of anything I don't want to keep.

Cos I have a business web site, I get a lot of SPAM ... even if the patients don't use it!!!
