366 MEME - Day 60 - Busy At Home!

Both of my brothers and myself have only a few things in common - one of those is that we all like ironing! (My 2 brothers do all the ironing at home!) Having been away for a week, I brought home a load of washing, and have dried outside and am now busy ironing.

I understand how you might enjoy ironing. You can think of other things while ironing. Your mind drifts. Then you get to see how you finished a task. Pride in seeing a work completed.

I like to laundry. It tidys up my bedroom. I am able to do other things while the machines run. Like typing in comments. Unlike doing the dishes or picking up around the house which is never ending. When you are done, it stays done a bit longer than doing the dishes or picking up around the house. A completed task you can feel good about. I guess if you have a large family, laundry might never be done, but I only have myself and my son. We do laundry once or twice a week.

Nick seems to iron most days - but with 4 boys ...!!!!!

I like doing it, just looks so positive to have the pile of ironed clothes ready to pack away. It's true though, we talk about "doing the washing" yet all we do is put on the machine, and get on with other work - When I was a kid, Mum had a twin tub, which was great, but needed constant supervision - but our Grandmothers - mmmmm glad I'm not in that era!

Well after having had my washing day on friday with lots of summer stuff being washed after being stuffed in closet for too long and thus ending in a 2 hour ironing marathon on saturday which i hated, I know now who i invite to visit me the next time i have such a marathon. :D HUGS

I like the look and smell of a pile of freshly iron laundry - shirts, tablecloths, sheets - ahh.

But I'd rather someone else does it!!

I like to iron (and I do it weekly), it's one of the times I get a chance to put on lots of music and let my mind wander.

I like to iron too, and generally listen to music while doing so. My iron is a bit noisy (steam generator) so it's difficult to concentrate on watching TV or a DVD - plus I've been known to be so caught up in what I'm watching I've ironed my hand. :D

(and as you can see I'm catcing up on a bit of LJ - I'll try not to comment on too many of your older posts *g*)
