Wow - Snow!
Tuesday, February 3rd, 2009 10:20 amAs I have told a few people we don't get snow here - although yesterday was the exception.
As I have had patirnts cancel for this morning (don't they realise I am saving up to see James!) I went for a short (and slow) walk round Bude.
This picture I actually took in by back garden -
This is taken from near the end of my road - looking down to the river Neet and then up the other side. The Falcon Inn (centre of the picture) is a Victorian Coaching Inn, btw)
The War Memorial ... and the Cornish flag. The other side of the hill there were some kids using surdf boards ... this side drops into The Neet!
The River Neet.

Date: 2009-02-03 06:53 pm (UTC)Where is this place of which you live and speak of that is snowless?
And how easy is it to emigrate there from England?

Date: 2009-02-04 08:37 am (UTC)I believe it was mentioned about 7 times in all 203 adventures of the Doctor, (Some adventures were 2- 4 episodes long), not counting the mini episodes, but no mention in those. Anyway the point is that sometimes when the Doctor sets coordinates for the TARDIS to land somewhere at a specific date (He doesn't often do specific dates BTW) the TARDIS will somehow sense he is "needed" in that place, but in a different time and will deliver him to the time it believes he will be more "needed" in.
I say "it" when referring to the TARDIS but the Doctor always calls her "she"
Hence why his calculations are sometimes off, the TARDIS is sending him to sort out wrongs.
Then again.... The Doctor pilots an unreliable, stolen and obsolete Type 40 TARDIS.
As it is obsolete and unreliable, this could also explain the errors it sometimes makes in destinations.
Cos it did dump poor Sarah Jane Smith off in Aberdeen, Scotland back n 1979 and not South Croydon where he meant to take her when he, (This is the 4th incarnation, but she travelled with the 3rd and 4th Doctors), was called home to Gallifrey, (Humans were not allowed to the home planet back then). He only find out of his mistake 30 years later when his 10th incarnation bumps into her and she tells him. But we, the viewers knew all those years ago what had happened.
So there are a number of reason the TARDIS messes up sometimes.
Oh dear. I just turned into uber-Who-geek man from hell didn't I? I need a life, seriously...

Date: 2009-02-04 10:06 am (UTC)I have loved and watched Dr Who all my life, but don't always focus on the minute bits! I just love seeing The Dr great K9 ... that is such a lovely scene.
The only shows I do that for are Blakes 7 and Buffy.

Date: 2009-02-04 07:23 pm (UTC)Oh when he sees K9 in School Reunion my heart just melted!
And at the end when ....
Sarah Jane: Goodbye Doctor...
Doctor: *dismissive*
Oh it's not good...
Sarah Jane: *gets very flustered*
Say it! Please, say it...this time...
DAWWWWWWW! Sarah Jane! *squish*
hehe
I'm so pleased she got a spin off and how they hugged at the end *points to icon*
I love that episode, one of RTD's finest.
So you watch for the deatils like this in Blakes 7 and Buffy like I do Who?

Date: 2009-02-04 08:03 pm (UTC)Yes, you can't often catch me up with Blake ... and now wth Buffy (although with BtVS I tend to read tons of Spuffy fics, so must watch the series a lot to keep up ... That's my excuse, anyway!)
