ukchrispI managed to find a local(ish) camera club - Launceston ... 45 mins drive away, and went to a meeting yeasterday. It turns out that a few from Bude go, so we should be able to share some of the driving. One of the club was one of the guys that I did my City & Guilds with back in the mid 90's.
Now I just need to focus - and get some time set aside!
I don't suppose I will dare enter any of the competitions, but it is what I need, so thanks for the final push!!
In other news -
My business is picking up a bit - so all in all I am feeling that 2009 is going much better than the last 2 years - so THANK YOU all for sticking with me, and kicking me when I have needed it.

In RL - my friend Toni (who owns DJ - we ahve been friends for about 11 years); Hard to say after that - Chris and Sharon are 2 girls who live in Bude and are good friends, but also annoy me from time to time (LOL); Christine, who goes to Church with me - but she is a real loner, so hard to get to know; and Sylv (Kay's mum) but she now lives in Exeter - so don't get to see her as much as I used to.
I have always tended to be a loner - comes from being bullied from age 9 to 18.
2. Sex

James is the #1 at making my heart pitter-patter!!
I love a great smile, nice eyes and a good sense of humour ... a nice body isn't bad either!
3. Music
Music style you utterly loathe?
Modern Jazz (... or some of the grungy/house style.)
4. Drugs
Ever taken any kind?
Only prescription ones from the GP - never even tried a ciggie.
Will drink alcohol though - and it actually has absolutley no effect on me!
5. Love
Who do you love most in the world and you can only pick 1 person.
Can't do that one!
The answer is Mum and Dad, my brother Tim .. then his wife Cl;aire and my other brother Nick ... and James (of course!!)

What one thing do you dislike about LJ?
I should be really good and say it's the amount of time I have wasted! But, I suppose it is when posting pics trying to get them to load in the position that you want them - if you use their loading system (and I'm not great at html!) Overall I love LJ.
Hope that answers them - even though I know I actually failed to anwer 2 of them correctly!

Toni - who owns DJ and I ride with - I have know her 11 years - Until I met her I had never had a "best friend"

How do you feel about premarital?
I am against it - although I should be honest and say that I also know that temptation does happen - Just not to me (so far!!)

If you could play any instrument you don't currently, what would you chose?
I would love to play the piano - both my parents do, and i had a go back when I started the clarinet. I think now, that I don't practice enough as it is - and am used top playing one note at a time, don't think I could cope with the music!

No never - not even tried one cigarette!

Do you believe in 'true love'?
Yes - I have never experienced it though. My parents have been married 56 years, one of my brothers 19 years - and I see those relationships - love and friendship combined - Really wish I had it!

How long have you been on lj, have you ever been away from it for a long period at a time?
I joined when I was looking for a beta for the first ever fic I had attempted - back in 3 years ago (today) I have just seen! No it is my first and only Blog - and I am never away except for my annual week-long holiday.
It has given me an awful lot.

Date: 2009-01-28 11:48 pm (UTC)Don't worry to much about competitions yet, just get settled into the club and then you can see what sort of work they produce for the comps, then you'll have some idea if your ready to enter any of them soon or later on.
I've got some stormy seas pics that I took last sunday in Lyme Regis, i'll get them sorted out and will do a pic spam once their ready to upload :)
