Just a short note to say that I hope my friends who live in California are safe - and their families as well.

Not forgetting James and family as well!

It doesn't seem all that long ago that I was typing similar to this.  It is so sad that some ares of the world get these repetative disasters - my heart goes out to you all.

Thanks, love. From my window I can see ashes falling and a thick dark cloud over us. We're safe though and very lucky. ::worries for others::

Wow! I have been so immersed in my writing that I hadn't even heard of the fires. Also, we don't have are TV on often.

I'm in Riverside County. The sky is still a nice blue here, but I can see the smoke and smell it on the air. The wind can't be helping the fire fighters.

At this point, all is well in my area. With the last huge set of fires, Our little valley area was surrounded by fires on every side, but we didn't get touched. It was amazing to watch the water planes land on the lake though.

And I just read that not ten minutes from here there was a fire in the city of Corona. My husband have driven right by it to get home from work yesterday and he didn't even mention it. Sheesh!
