Things Really Do Happen In Threes

When I woke up on Friday I had come to the tough decision that, even though I love my car (a 10 year old red Ford Puma), and I don't have any money, I still would have to look at replacing it.  The clutch doesn't have long to go, neither do the brake cylenders - not too bad with 120,000 miles on the clock!  And lat week with all that rain I also discovered I have a leak somewhere, so I am ankle deep in water!  So, much as I loved the car, I have to say Goodbye.

I then went to see DJ and the others, and all was well there - came back, saw a patient, then wanted to wash my hair - turned on the heating ... no central heating!  Yes the bolier has died, or something!

So, all in all not a good morning, that's OK I thought - I'll get lunch ... Baked Potato (which I start off in the microwave) ... no light there! 

So - all in all it should have been Friday the 13th, not the 24th!!

I love that car - and with finance non-existant it is a pain ... but it would have cost £500+ to get it through it's MOT next month, so that's where I realised I ought to make a practical decision ... and grovel to Mum and Dad for a loan!

When it rains, it pours. Sorry you are in a bad patch. At least DJ is better, I hope. My car is a 2001 Malibu. I just hope it lasts a bit longer. I take good care of it and love it. My AC in the car gives me a bit of problem off and on. In Texas, you have to have AC in a car.

Well up to now I have not really had any major bills - so that is where I realised that I had to be practical rather than pay the £500+ to get it through its MOT (annual test here) next month. So - I have grovelled to Mum and Dad ... haven't actually told them about the boiler yet!

But - Yay, DJ, he was looking well yesterday!

Oh that's a shame about your car (a nuisance about the microwave too, but you don't get attached to them like you do cars). Will you try and go for something sporty again?

More people I know are having trouble with their central heating this year than ever (indeed we are awaiting the visit of the boiler man on Wednesday, as our heating has a mind of its own and we have no control over it whatsoever).

Glad DJ's doing really well though.

Thanks Carolyn - boilers always do decide to die once the weather gets cooler, so you can't get hold of the plumber!

No - the car will be something cheeper this time - not 'cos I'm older, just 'cos the bank balance said so!
