Ivy's Funeral.

Thank you for all your positive messages a couple of days ago.

The day went off beautifully.  The weather was lovely, there were a lot of people from The Church there, the Vicar gave a lovely eulogy (that was both true and funny), the hymns were both the ones Ivy chose and ones I loved.

The Bible reading was from Revelation 21 .... "God shall wipe away all tears"

Yes, there were tears, we are selfish and miss her ... but she is at peace in Heaven, which is what she longed for.

So it was a lovely tribute to a very special lady, who I had been proud to call my friend.

Farewell Ivy ... I shall miss you, but we will meet again.

And ... Colin didn't go!   His wife and kids were there (but their other halves weren't there either) and they kept to themselves.

Happy that the day went well. It's Colin's loss by being petty. Ivy was watching I am sure and sang along with the hymns. She is without pain and suffering now. We are the ones waiting to share her joy. I am sure she sends her love to you.

Thanks - yes, that was the positive thoughts I have taken from the day - she is at peace and I will see her again.

Colin is the loser - in every way.

Hi, I'm just finding out what happened, I'm so sorry for your loss honey, my heart goes out to you now. I'm glad that in was a good day considering the circumstances and yes, she's at peace now, lets remember that. I sending you lots of really tight hugs.

I am so sorry for your loss, but, yes, she is not here anymore. It is wonderful to know you will see her again.

I can't imagine a son not attending his mother's funeral. With everything that went on, and he didn't even come to her funeral. Unbelievable.

Yes, I couldn't really believe it when he didn't go to the funearl - It meant the rest of us were able to enjoy the memories ... but to not attend your mothere funeral ... I suppose, sadly, it just summed him up.

What an attitude, not to go to your mother's funeral. But it showed his true colors.
Good to hear that it was a lovely day. It's depressing to attend a funeral when it pours (rains).
