Pic Scam - Flowers.

A couple of weeks ago Here I asked for ideas of things to photograph - and kazzy_cee suggested some close-ups of flowers.

So, behind the cut are 9 pictures, that I have reduced in size, so as not to be too slow in loading. 
 

 

Hope that you enjoyed them ... Some of the other pics will be up soon, as I want to try and get most of the projects done before I head off to Greece next Wednesday (with Mum and Dad).

Mum has just bought me a Nikon D80 ... a digital SLR. This was the reason I wanted a challnge, as I wanted to get back into taking "proper" pictures, rather than the snaps I always take loads of!!

Can't help you with all the names ... Sorry! I just saw them around Mums house and garden and took the pics ... LOL.

Beautiful pictures, beautiful flowers, I specially love the pic of the orchid, they are my favorites! :) Can I ask, do you know the name of the flowers? Some of them you don't find around here, the last two for example.

The last but one is a Hoya - very perfumed and a climber.
The last one, I don't know the name of, but is a cactus, that you water in the plant - the flower is as hard and spiky as the actual plant.
There are fuscia, red-hot poker, dandelion (which is a weed, here !) as well.
Sorry - Mum's the one with the green fingers!

To me it was just to get a range of colours and textures.

Very pretty - I love the dandelion clock - and you've got nice sharp close ups even without a macro setting.
