Spike - A True Lover!

Anyone who wonders whether Spike can love has only got to watch the beginning of "What's My Line" in season 2.

As soon as Dru speaks to him, he changes from rage at Dalton to love and caring ... brilliant acting, plus real emotions.

I am re-watching the episode and had to pause to write this, as his tender caring just knocked me out.

For me it was School Hard. He was talking to the Annoying One in full game face. Then he sensed Drusilla behind him. He dropped his game face and looked at her with such tenderness. She said she was cold and he whipped off his coat to place it around her shoulders. His tone of voice softened and he was so sweet toward her. I fell like a ton of rocks for him in that moment. So I have been doomed from his first scene.

Yes, that scene in School Hard is my number one (as I did say a few weeks ago) - Spikes change of attitude (and James acting) .... brilliant.

I think this is why this scene just got me, another imilar change in Spike, yet one I often forget about.

'School Hard' transformation, 'What's My Line', the stair scene in 'Lie to Me' even up to the tenderness in 'Crush' -- all those wonderful Spike-Dru moments.

Yes, that School Hard change is always going to be special ... this one was just one that I had overlooked ... Dru was a lucky girl.

Oh, I haven't watch "What's my line" in a long time, maybe I should do it soon before I forget it completely! I do remember some scenes though where Spike was so tender to Dru, he was the sweetest vampire boyfriend. Yeah, he could love very well! No doubt! :)
