Oh No, Having To Actually Do Some Work Today!

Yes, poor boy - I think he hoped he would have 3 months off like he did during the winter when I injured my hand!

He was lying down when I arrved this morning - so, both lazy and damp!

Still, as ever, he was good while I groomed and plaited him.  Then once tacked up I walked him up the road to meet up with Ros and Rosie.  Rosie was in a "don't want to work mode" to begin with.  She did settle down, especially when she realised that we were turning round at the farm and heading back.  It was easier for me to not do too much, so it was lovely to be out again, but without getting too stressed while doing it.

Once we had dropped the 2 R's off we headed back ... for carrots and back to his field for a rest, as he had actually had to do some work today!

It is tough - still he does have the wekend to rev=cover, do you think that will be long enough!!

I managed to make it to go riding today too! I ended up grooming one horse then they decided that I'd swap with someone else, so I got to ride my favourite horse, but she hadn't had the benefit of the grooming time and looked all muddy! LOL!

Ah well - at least I could watch the horse I had groomed and admire his gleaming coat and wonderful de-tangled tail as he went around the field in front of me! *g*

I used to do that when I worked at the stables - groom for ages then throw tack on DJ (or Jaykub) and ride a muddy horse! Still I love all things horsey - so it is nice to groom as well. And, as you say - you had a good view! We used to do mostly road-work - so I was a great advert!!

Glad you were able to get there anyway - hope you can fit in a couple more during your hols.

I'm glad you got a chance to ride, even if DJ was none too happy about it. From your stories about him, he reminds me of my Sugar -- an all around good sport but definitely *not* possessing the heart of a racehorse. ;)

No, DJ is not a forward going horse ... although doesn't want to get left behind either!

Hope you are feeling better now ... and carrots to your "family" from DJ ... I told him he had to be generous!
