I went round Mum and Dad's garden over the weekend and took a couple of general pictures as well as some individual flowers - and one butterfly.  So, under the cut are pictures of South Devon, in the sunshine.

Mum and dad's bungelow is L shaped.

These 2 were taken before I cut the grass!

Bird of Paradise.

There are some bees around, at long last.

Honeysuckle - I so love the design and the aroma.

Passion Flower.

This is a scented rose - it was transplanted from my Grandparents garden 27 years ago ... and 3 houses ago!

Lovely to see such wonderful summer flowers - gardens not quite so plentiful here at the moment. I get screeched at by cockatoos, parrots and rosellas to put seed out because of the lack of flowers!

I'm sure you see what I would consider 'exotic' birds every day, but we're lucky here living close to the 'bush' - we probably see an average of 10-12 different types of native birds in our backyard each day. Anya, our dog, has to be very vigilent in her cat patrol - we have a very stubborn neighbour cat keen on getting our birds!

I think Jiffy and Anya would get on very well. I suspect that Anya (although far removed from her sheep dog ancestry) sees the birds as her flock to be rounded up and sorted out - unfortunately the birds don't always take much notice, much to Anya's chagrine. Us humans, however find it most amusing (just don't tell Anya!).

Those are so lovely. Makes me a bit sad for our yard. We lost three trees lately. Some sort of bug. The heat here makes it hard to raise such lovely plants.

Pretty pictures of a lovely garden - so full of color and variety.
Love the rose story. Nice to see memories.

Your camera is getting a good workout. The depth of field with flowers add to their beauty.

I say again, what fantastic quality in your pictures.
And a wonderful garden, something we lack here. Plus the sheep would eat everything insite she has already wrecked the rose bushes and natives *lol*
