Now I have my camera, the weather was lovely and I wasn't working, I decided to go for a walk and below the cut, I have proof that Bude isn't just a "sea-side" town.

One of the older houses in Bude ... which was built while the canal was being built.

Having fun on the canal.

Ready for a swim?

The River Neet ... I am standing between the canal and the river in this picture, so that you can find your geography!

The river as it winds towards Bude, and thus the sea.

And practicing with my camera - in my own front garden.

I don't think I've ever been to Bude - it looks extremely pretty! I love the architecture and the ducks :)

Your camera looks like it's working well :D

Lovely photos. I never knew how different houses and places were till I left my small TX town. I got culture shock by moving to Germany. I love the buildings in Europe. Here everything is cookie cutter in middle America, unless you have big bucks to build to suit you.

My uncle was big with doing flower photos. One of his tricks was to spray the flower with water so it looked like dew on it. Just a different effect he gave them. My mom had a beautiful rose garden. She had one called Tropicana which was a sort of orange color. She had white and yellow ones as well. Her favorite was one called Nepture which is classes as a mauve color, but looked very silvery purple to me.

I didn't know there was a canal there. And I especially like the rose. How lucky you are to have roses in your garden. :)

Happy that you will share not only your new camera skill but even more pictures of your hometown.
Love seeing the canal and the locks and the houses.
Thanks.

Nice piccies :) I like the one of the river - it looks very similar to the river Axe here just along from Weston beach.
That house is very nice isn't it, funnily enough it doesn't actually look all that old.
Pretty rose - does it have much of a perfume ? so many now don't smell much which is a shame.
