Small Pic Scam ...

A lot of my f-list have posted pics of their garden ...well, that wouldn't work for me!!  I am useless.  However behind the cut are 3 pictures I took last month at Mum and Dads, in South Devon.

Yes, the Bird of Paradise is flowering outside!!

This is a general view of the garden - I am standing with my back to the lounge.  It is a poor pic as it was taken early evening - I really must get a better picture for you all to see!

Yes, we thought we would have to keep it in the greenhouse - well the tub gets dragged there for the winter, and is now on the patio.

As I said - Mum has green fingers!

We bought the bulb when we were on holiday in Tenerife - thought it ould have to stay in the gren house, so were amazed it grows outside during the summer.

The Bird of Paradise bulbs we bought when we were in Tenarife a few years ago - amazing that it spends it summer outside in England!

Just beautiful! They are in Cornwall too? I saw a film that made it clear that there are many gardens (with a wide variety of flora from all sorts of climes) there. Just lovely.

They have a lovely garden - I can't believe that the Bird of Paradise is flowering outside! I know that Devon can be a lot milder but still.

I wish my garden was as good as that, this is about the size of our smallest section of our back lawn, and because we live next to fields we get all the weeds blowing across when the fields are ploughed (bindweed, brambles,ivy ect) it's a nightmare trying to get rid of it all.

Yes - the BoP plant is amazing - maybe it is cos they are in Torbay and thus in an area of natural protection.

Yes, my garden gets water-logged - I have it as patio with some tubs and a border of reeds and grasses to try to keep any dampness from the house ... but as I am not keen like Mum, even that doesn't look photo-worthy!!
