You All Get To See Him Today

Yes - you will see DJ as much as I do, today.  

I started driving towards his home to be met by mist, that turned to fog, that thickened.  So half way there I phoned Toni and she said it was similar, so turned round and came home ... No riding today ... and just seeing a dappled grey on a foggy day is hard!!

So thought I would share a couple of pics I took last month, which show his new summer coat - and the fact that I do still plait him!!

btw - The first picture is taken at a bad angle, I do know .... However I decided to post it as the area of gravel behind where DJ is standing is "THE" gravel I fell over on in December where I damaged my hand!!

He can be pretty good around camera's ... although sometimes he will ignore everything I do to try to get him to look my way!

Yes - he is cute ... and the plaits go in pretty fast now ... all held on just one elastic band at the end.

I never really stopped to talk to you about your horse. Which is odd because I am a horse lover myself. What breed is he? My horse in a standardbred, I haven't been home to ride him in more than 7 months and its terrible.

I let some older gentleman ride him in the One-Day 25mile in Vermont, and he came in third...still waiting for the piccies of that :D

I think our horses would get along. :D

Yes - he is a stunner - and it is fascinating to watch his colour change every year - from balck at birth to this ... Toni says that it is being with me that is sending him white!!

Thank you - Carrots "evaporated" as they arrived in DJs field ... he blames Conrad!

I grew up in London - so I didn't see any horses then ... in fact I was 33 before I ever even touched a horse!

DJ is now 9 - and as you can see by the link, I have known him all his life - he is a sweetheart ... well, most of the time!

In the Countryside, riding is a popular sport ... and is a real favourite amongst teenage girls. But, if you want to, there are competitions going on all the time - I just ride for fun.

I am sure that you will get a chance to spend some quality time with a horse ... It is amazing the oppertunities that are out there, that arrive without us expecting it. Rididng wasn't something I had ever even thought about!!
