.... Could someone please remind me we are in July, which in England means the summer.

I have just got back form the bank and the post-office and have rung water (literally) out of my clothes.

Off to put the kettle on and have a cup of tea ... and thaw out!

Tell me about it. It's raining here, too, and I'm actually bag to layering clothes....

Very much so. I'm not the biggest fan of heat but I don't need to freeze in July either.

We're having the opposite problem - way too much heat and humidity for Philadlephia in July. Normally we get a week or so in August, not this every three days of tropical weather.

{{{hugs}}} and warm beverage therapy. We are having a cooler than usual summer here too but I am happy. I hate the months of 100+ degrees and no rain so having some showers and temps not above 90 are a welcome relief. I suppose I am one of those people who prefer the cold to the hot because you can always put something else on to warm up but you can only remove so much and be socially acceptable LOL.

If you could, please send some of the rain and cooler weather over to TX. It's the middle of the summer here so it's in the high 90's and dry as a bone. Air conditioning isn't a treat in TX. People die here in the heat. We lose a couple of kids each year because some stupid parent leave the kid in a car. If it is in the 90's outside the car, it gets up to 120 inside a car with the windows rolled up. My yard is so dry. Our water bill went up four times as much as the month before. We have new trees so we have to water them. If we don't keep the area around the house watered, the ground shifts and the house foundation gets damaged. We use plants that are native so they don't need as much water, but we still have to water a bit.
