I have seen this MEME around on a few of my f-list and didn't think I would bother with it -

You know how sometimes people on your friend's list post about stuff going on in their life, and all of a sudden you think "Wait a minute? Since when are they working THERE? Since when are they dating HIM/HER? since when???" And then you wonder how you could have missed all that seemingly pretty standard information, but somehow you feel too ashamed to ask for clarification because it seems like info you *should* already know? It happens to all of us sometimes.

Well having read a few, which were really interesting and also knowing that I have a few newer people on my list, I thought I would do it ... so a lot of you can skip this and go onto your next f-list entry!

1. First Name:
Deborah

2. Age:
46

3. Location:
North Crnwall, England

4.Occupation:
Osteopath

5.Partner:
Single

6.Kids:
Does DJ count?

7. Brothers/Sisters:
I have two brothers - both younger than me.

Nick is a teacher (Head of Maths) at a boarding School.
He is married to Brenda, who is a (very) part-time child minder.
They have 4 kids :-
Andrew - 12
Daniel - 10
Thomas - 8
Joseph - 5
They were married in 1992

Tim is a Legal Executive who works in Family Law
He is married to Claire who is an Income Tax Inspector.
They have no kids.
They were married in 1990

8. Pets:
DJ - and for those who don't realise it, he is my namesake ... and if you missed the post, he was 9 last month.
Jiffy is Mum and Dads West Highland Terrier and is 2.  As I spend my Weekends at my parents he is also part of my family.

9. List the 3-5 biggest things going on in your life:
1 - My Faith in God.
2 - My family.
3 - My friends - both those in RL and those on LJ
4 - Trying to (at long last) come to terms with the bullying I received at school ... I have always been a positive person and the physical drain and emotional stress I had when I hurt my hand in December really knocked me (metaphorically) on the head.  The bullying I know, cost me my confidence - and as fast as I try to re-build that something knocks me back.
5 - For the first time in my life I am "aware" of being single ... which I find weird that it is something that I have suddenly noticed!

10) Where and for what did you go to school?:
My first school was in North Wales, then I went to 4 other primary schools in Essex; before going to "The Coopers Company and Coborn School" (also in Essex)
I trained to be an osteopath at the original college (in its original location, when I was there) - The British School of Osteopathy, in London

11) Parents:
I am so lucky that even though they are now in their 80s they are both mentally fit and physically well.

My Dad left school at 14 as his parents said education was a waste of time.  He worked in the East London Docks during the war as an engineer working on the tugs and locos of the docks.  He was also in The Home Guard.
Afetr the war he got a slightly better job in Fords and sent himself to college to get his exams so theat in 1948 he could attend Bible College.
He later worked as a designer and then a Senior Lecturer at North East London Polytechnic ... and 6 months before I graduated I went to see him get his Ph.D.
Earlier this year he had a book published on The Second Coming of Jesus (from The Revalation, in the Bible)

My Mum went to High School on a full grant at the age of 10 - but when her Mother was ill during the war she had to leave school for 6 months.  So when she returned she dropped a school year - and sadly never fitted in.  So left at 15 and worked in a solicitors office.
She has never got any qualifications - but has done so much - made all our clothes when we were kids (and still makes all hers ...as well as making both my sisters-in-law wedding dresses)  She is, to this day an amazing cook - and sadly her eyesight is not great for her to continue her fabulous handcraft.
She went to work when I was at college to help support me.

They have been married 56 years.

12) Who are some of your closest friends?:
Toni, Mum and Dad, Nick and Tim ... That's about it ... As I have just said in #9

I liked this meme - I'll probably do it tomorrow, when it's not, like, late. The thing that really grabbed me "56 years of marriage" - that's absolutely wonderful. Should we all be so lucky to be able to have that many years with our chosen partner.

P.S. I also forgive you (or possibly your parents) for not spelling Debra correctly ;-) LOL ... ...

Great to read about you, your life and family.

Your parebts are married 56 years - wonderful. My parents made it to 49 years. They were part of what is called The Silent Generation. I think that is because they bore so much with fortitude and [yes] silence. No complaints just got on with it.

[Enjoy your daily DJ trip journal.]

Thank you for sharing.

I hate bullies and I hope you dwell to much on that part of your life. The idea of those idiots still getting to you after all that time makes me angry!
I haven't known you all that long, but what I've seen so far, you are an amazing, caring and giving person. You have much to be proud of and have confidence in.

I loved reading about your parents. They seem like really great people. And Revelations is a great book in the Bible to read. Better than anything Hollywood could come up with. When I read it, I get chills and take comfort in knowing that I'm on the winning side. :) Even so Lord come. It's a tough subject to tackle, so you must be very proud of your dad for getting a book published on the subject.

Ok so I knew most of that.
Which proves I have been paying attention :)

But there were a few little snippets I didn't, so now I know some more interesting fact:) Well technically more about your parents!
Thanks for sharing ((HUGS))

Sounds like you have a lovely family but I thought that frmo your other posts.

My mother also made all my clothing as I was growing up, even outer coats! I think that generation may be the last to do so, sadly.

YES DJ is family! My dogs are my children (just ask the Jack Russell, Chloe, who gave birth literally on me then looked at me as if to say, "What ever are you doing having these squeeling things?" she abdicated to me as mother from that point on!).

*hugs*
Kathleen
I'd love to have a few moments with those bullies! You're gold and they are just stupid sods.
