"Oh What A Beautiful Morning"

debris4spikeWell, I didn't hear DJ either whistling or singing, but maybe he was just humming quietly to himself.
He was a good boy!!
When I got there I actually saw him sprawled out in the sun enjoying a snooze, so thought he wouldn't be impressed, but he walked over to me and we strolled in together. However he did stop when a pterodactyl flew in front of him ... ooops, sorry, it was only a butterfly!
He then stood dozing while I got covered in hair!! Yes, he is moulting ... with his winter coat about 3" long on average, one of these days I think I am going to disappear!
Just before Toni joined us we heard an explosion ... never did find out what it was, but even so he was un-fazed.
Toni and Junior came in and the 4 of us headed out and through the woods. We could just see the bluebells coming up - another week and the woods will have blue carpet. The last part of the track was soft and only slightly downhill so we had a short canter, before going back onto a farm track and down into the valley ... the only trouble with down is you have to go up the other side!
Once at the top we walked past the local riding stables, before turning to go back down into the valley a bit further along. As we turned down we were met with a herd of cattle walking towards us, on their way to milking. Junior and Dj looked surprised but kept strolling on.
Down to the stream ... where DJ stopped for a slurp before walking back up the other side and slowly making for home. Junior is taller than DJ so he had to trot and walk to keep up.
Sadly he got quite hot as although he is loosing his coat, he still has a lot left - so it would be a bit like running a marathon while wearing thermal long underwear!!
Still once back he stood and let me sponge his face and rub a towel over his body - then a small feed (and a carrot of course) and back out to his field to tell Conrad about his morning.
The weather was great - DJ was a good boy - we were out for 2 1/2 hours ....
