No - I haven't got mad - I do know it isn't Christmas!

I read part of The Bible every morning and just wanted to share with you a thought I had today.  I know some of you won't want to read it - so for your sakes it is under a cut - I am not ashamed of God, I just don't want to upset any of my friends.

I am reading from a Chronological Bible at present - which is a great way to do it, when you have read the book numerous times.  It makes the stories come alive again.

At present I am "in the middle of The Old Testament" and am reading of Kings of Israel and Judah, the downfall of both countries and the rise of their enemies.  The readings are form both Kings and Chronicles - but also from the prophets.

In the midst of the carnage of todays words, was that famous verse from Isaiah -

"Immanuel - God with us"

And it reminded me that God is always there - but, like the Kings of old, we have to make the choice whether we turn to God or not.

I know God is the single most important thing in my life - without Him, I would be less than nothing.

Sorry I don't know the verse, but just because I'm not a fan of religion I wouldn't jump an entry and I'm glad your religion gives you so much strengh and meaning in life. :)

To everyone their believes. I know something/someone is up there and that's enough for me. :)

*hugs*

My thoughts too.

Chronological Bible...I haven't used one of those before.

I love hearing from my sisters about what they are learning in the word! It's so exciting! :)

I was in the word last night - reading Ecclesiastes and Song of Solomon - He's teaching me to content in my life, not wanting or needing more, but to appreciate what I have and to accept it. It's a very comforting in the word, isn't it?

A good reminder. Thank you for that. :)

I'm not familiar with chronological Bibles. But I can see the advantages of reading through the scriptures that way.
