debris4spike: (DJ - plaited!)

Well, I don't think I heard either DJ or Smudge singing this morning as I let myself into their field - but I certainly felt like it .... Fortunately for the 2 boys, I refrained!

The sun was out, the frost was thawing ... and I had a muddy horse hoping for a carrot!

Yes, he had a carrot and then back to his box for a groom.  He was certainly needing one, as the weather had been terrible over the weekend - Toni had taken them all out extra hay, as we had severe gale force winds to go with the rain.

Anyway once he was a bit cleaner I could tack him up and get ready to go.  Toni brought in Smudge and together we went for about a 6 mile walk.  It was really lovely.  It gave us a chance to chat and "put the world to rights" ... while letting the boys walk and gently work their bodies.

As DJ is still un-clipped, he came back quite warm, but that gave Toni and I a chance to finish off our chat over a cup of coffee!

More carrots - and back to their field .... I took them both back and once through the gate, DJ promptly got down and rolled ... yes, you guessed it, no camera!

Ah..the weather here on Sunday wasn't very nice...it was raining. It's really cold here, though! I'm still hoping for a good amount of snow. :P

aww another beautiful morning ride.

The gale force winds still haven't died down? Is this normal for this time of year?

It wasn't me!
I swear on Cardboard Spike... who is visiting you this week, just in case you didn't know already. hahaha :-)

Oh! I took this picture today and I had to send it to you :-)
This is one of the horses that lives down the street from where I work.

This is not one of the horses that we take the guys to visit, those 3 and the donkey are right across the street from the group home.
This horse lives down the street a bit further, but I always think of DJ when I see the horses. There are 2 of them at this house, I think the other one is in the barn.

It sounds like your weather is starting to get very wintery.
But it was good you got to go for a ride.
Maybe DJ would enjoy you singing to him, I cant hold a tune but I had one horse who loved to hear your voice constantly whilst out riding - hence the singing *g*

I hereby nominate DJ for the muddiest equine award! heehee! I've noticed that you mention the mud quite a bit. I'm sure it's a joy to get him cleaned up for the ride at times!

LOL! I will hug him, and squeeze him, and re-name him Mud-pie!

Ooh. It's been a long time since I've had to wash a horse in places that I prefer not to think about!
