My parents married in March 1952 and moved into their first house the last week of November.

On the firts Saturday in December Dad bought Mum a pot-plant with the last few pennies in his pocket.  This has continued every years since.

Today Mum got up to find an Orchid sitting on the breakfast table!

I think it is great!!

Awww... Bless them!

Although I did blink and read several times: "pot plant," thinking, "Was that legal in 1952?" Sorry! My mind was wandering, I guess!

That is so sweet and sentimental. Your dad must be a great guy. Your mom is so lucky.

Thank you, but I can't take credit. It's from [livejournal.com profile] frail_delusions

I loved the sentiment.

"Trust" is very nice, too. I like the flowers, it's perfect for your post.

That is a loverly story about your parents. Men - well some men can be real romantics. Kudos to your Dad for being one of them.
