More Sunbathing Today!

All the horses were asleep when I went out to get DJ this morning - and with the farrier coming for Smudge and Badger and Toni planning to ride Junior they all had to wake up.  However as DJ was the first one to be collected I think he was slightly upset with me.

However after being groomed, and a proper plait done for him we just went up the road a short way, when we met Ro and Cherry returning and all "6" of us pulled onto the verge and chatted.  Well the humans gossipped and the equines went back to sleep!

So really hard work for them, as we all decided to go home together!

DJ still seemed to think he needed feeding though ... obviously I had eaten too much breakfast and he had to carry my huge weight au the road and back (less than a mile!)

I saw this quote "When we ride a horse we borrow freedom" which you've probably seen before. I guess riding DJ isn't like that?

I hadn't seen that quote - but there is certainly something about horse riding. I just do it for fun now, but worked at stbles for 3 years - and it all gives you an amazing feeling of freedom. So thanks for sharing that quote

I don't know - when we stopped to chat he wanted to eat some grass and I wouldn't let him - you see, poor boy, he is very ill-treated!

Too funny! I have thought the same thing in the past, when I used to go for a Sunday brunch ride with the neighbors - hehee!

When I was having lessons there was a horse I rode who always sighed when she had finished a canter - and i was always sure she was telling me that I had eaten too much ... I must add the mare in question was a shire-cross!!!!
