"There's good news and there's bad news"

Well -

The good news is that I was able to stay to an hour of orchestral rehearsal tonight - and the pain in my lungs was only just starting.  (I won't tell you how many mistakes there were though!!)

But -

The bad news is - I have less than a month to get concert fit.  Again there is good and bad news there.

The good news is that as it is a classical concert the first clarinet parts are not 100% of the time.

However when I am playing they are important!  And on the day of the concert we have a full rehearsal all afternoon - which I usually find tyring when I am fit!

Still, overall I am happier than I was about a month ago when I thought I would be pulling out.

For those who are interested the programme is:-

Beethoven's Egmont Overture.
A Suite of modern music written by a local person.
Schubert's Piano Concerto
A Mozart Symphony.

I hope the good things keep getting better and that you grow stronger physically.

Oooo the Egmont Overture is beautiful!
I know you'll do just fine when the time comes for the concert.
I'll be sending good thoughts and prayers your way that everything comes out just fine in time :-)

Good luck with it all. I am just exhausted thinking about it, so it must be very tiring for you.

I am sure you will be fantastic at the concert.

Oooh! I hope all goes well. I love Beethoven and Mozart. (Classical music is a guilty pleasure of mine...helps me sleep)

I hope you don't mind that I've friended you. I've seen you around the fandom for awhile now and it looks like we have some interests in common. :)

That sounds like a lovely program. I'm very fond of classical music and when I was little I often dreamed of playing in an orchestra. Sadly, although my parents spent a fortune giving me piano lessons, I never learned to play really well.
