We are almost half way through January and for those who decided to make their New Year's Resolution that of dieting - thought I would post this that I received by email today :-

DIETS AND DYING

Losing weight is the number one resolution made each year. Yet winning the war gets harder and harder as we age. Finally--scientists have come to a startling conclusion on how to win the battle of the bulge.

THE JAPANESE eat very little fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than the British or Americans.

THE FRENCH eat a lot of fat and also suffer fewer heart attacks than the British or Americans.

THE GERMANS drink a lot of beers and eat lots of sausages and fats and suffer fewer heart attacks than the British or Americans.

THE JAPANESE drink very little red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than the British or Americans.

THE ITALIANS drink large amounts of red wine and also suffer fewer heart attacks than the British or Americans.

CONCLUSION: Eat and drink what you like. Speaking English is apparently what kills you.

So - Some of my friends are OK - but sadly there is no hope for me - so I am off to raid the fridge!

ROFL

I love your new motto. Can I take it up as well?

Well I'm back to my diet healthy eating regime but purposely didn't do it as a resolution or start on 1 Jan. I have got an incentive (two, in fact - my clothes don't fit me any more and I can't afford to buy new ones, and James!! in May).

Still, if speaking a foreign language is the trick to the think, I'll have to brush up on my schoolgirl French a bit more. *g*

Not gonna happen - I've paid for a photo so I'm not going to look like a lump of lard next to his gorgeous skinnyness. Might stick a bag on my head though, cos photos really not my thing.

Why? Because of adding to memories?
I need to send some email stuff around, haven't done it in a while ;-)

Ah that ;-)
I always hear that German is a difficult language (and I think this is right). So I'm glad I grew up with it. But the only other one I can read well (speaking is a bit rusty) is English. What I had as a third language (French) was only for three years and it's almost all forgotten by now. *sigh*
Ah well, my English got a bit better through all the reading. Good thing :)

That's always it with a foreign language: if you don't use it, you forget. I only have problems with grammar I guess (English). And for not reading what I write, only using spell check. That doesn't notice some kind of typos.
I can't help you with your English but I know why I make errors. ;-) I can only try to get better.
