I have just had the most amazing banner made for me by [livejournal.com profile] samantha_78 ... now if I can only work out how to put it in LJ ... although I think I may have to upgrade my account - does anyone know.

Yes - I am confused again!

Those are the only types of layouts that allow header images, unless you know advanced html and want to fiddle with the style sheet.

This is a little more advanced, unless you have, nebula or the boxes one for a layout, you have to do it the above way.

[livejournal.com profile] jape_answers has done a series of tutorials for inserting headers on most journal styles, whether paid or basic. Either go to the memories or page through the entries (it only goes to a couple of pages so doesn't take too long) until you find your particular style.

Having a paid account does let you do more with your journal if you're willing/able to fiddle a bit with html (which a lot of the time just means cutting and pasting what someone else has already worked out) - plus it gives you more userpics to play with, which was the reason I went and got myself a paid journal. The exchange rate's good at the moment, too.

If you don't want to go the paid route and can't find a basic style you like that lets you display a header, you could also try displaying it on your user info page - but whatever you do the banner image will need to be hosted at a site like Photobucket and not just on your computer hard drive.

Have a good weekend - and if you need more help when you get back to this I'm happy to try. :)
