Snowflake Challenge Day 15
Monday, January 15th, 2018 04:53 pmDay 15
In your own space, write a love letter to Fandom in general, to a particular fandom, to a trope, a relationship, a character, or to your flist/circle/followers. Share your love and squee as loud as you want to.
Thank you Spike and James, and BtVS,
You have given me so much. For the first time ever I wanted to write something ... having been told never to attempt anything (by an English teacher). But, that final episode needed to be changed, and so my fan-fic writing was started. And in looking through the internet I began to realise hat others felt the same. And, so I arrived at LJ.
James your acting just jumped out of the TV at me. The first episode I saw was "Lies" from season 7, and in 40 mins you were 2 separate people. For the first time I saw what an actor could do. In gradually increasing my contact within LJ and fandom, I discovered that you came to England .... and found that I was missing out on something. So in 2007 I decided I would go to London to one of your gigs .... my first ever concert. Through contact with others I found somewhere to sleep, so decided I would travel up to Milton Keynes to meet you in person. Thank you for that inspiration - I have been to other gigs of your, and have met some amazing people, some of whom are now good friends.
I somehow, via LJ, got myself challenged to attempt art-work ... not bad for someone who is colourblind.
So, I have done more things than I would ever have imagined, met people who are special to me ... all after watching 1/2 an episode of BtVS. In seeing that episode I ended up buying the DVDs, and overall have watched TV series and films that otherwise would not have been something that I would have even thought of,
THANK YOU, JAMES

Date: 2018-01-21 04:52 pm (UTC)I would do a Who one but it's probably not good to vent the venom and rage and loathing I have for Stephen Moffat and as a proxy to that he made me feel about my show... Luckily The Doctor is a she now, with a new showrunner so all that will slip away later this year as I watch my show anew :)

Date: 2018-02-03 02:21 pm (UTC)The great thing about Buffy and Spike (and all the stories, etc) is that they are strong characters that can unite, and cause much fun.

Date: 2018-02-03 02:23 pm (UTC)Oh well, I am not looking forward to a female Dr ... for lots of reasons. However I had this debate with one of my nephews, and he agreed with me when I reminded him of the whole River Song (and child) story-line!!! So ... have I now confused you further!!
