Monday Mid-Way Through September
Monday, September 16th, 2024 03:40 pmI have no excuse at all ... I can't even think what happened over the last couple of days, although I have had some shifts at work ... had a friend who had a bit of a crisis ... and generally lost the last few days!
So now I am here, and nothing exciting to say for the gap!
So sorry if you are expecting something exciting here, but maybe that will make up for the photo spamming I did earlier last week.
In fact, tomorrow, I am off to the city again on another guided walk ... walking into Exeter and meeting Christine for the tour. So there will be photos to come later in the week.
I also have a few icons I need to get done done today as I have to post them in the next couple of days, so I will catch up with the questions, and do that -
12. Today is European Migraine Day of Action to raise awareness - have you ever had a migraine?
I have had one, which lasted a couple of days, and the doctor said it was a viral migraine.
13. Do you own a desktop computer or do you use a laptop or a tablet?
Desktop every time
14. Francis Scott Key wrote the poem "Defence of Fort M’Henry" in 1814. It was later known as "The Star-Spangled Banner” - do you know all the words?
Don’t know any of it … sorry to my USA friends.
15. Penicillin was discovered today in 1928 by Alexander Fleming - have you ever had to take it?
Yes … a few times over the years.
16. In 1953 the first cinemascope film was shown - The Robe starring Richard Burton. Do you prefer to see a movie at home or on the big screen (does it depend on the type of movie)?
When you are at the cinema you can really focus on the story. But, I am also “mean”, so get upset if I pay out for a film, and then don’t enjoy it.
17. What is the worst smell you’ve ever smelled?
When I worked on the wards, it was easily the smell of someone who had been sick … that really gets my gag-reflex
18. Have you ever tried wearing contact lenses?
I wore hard lenses for 20 years … in fact one of the lenses was 20 years old, the other did have to have 2. As I broke one. I then changed to gas-permeable ones for about 10 years.
I will try and catch up with you all in a moment x
